Did you know….?
(3 in one:) “Worthless” is considered to be one of Disney’s darkest songs(1), “Hellfire” being another one(2). Halfway through filming, Donald Kushner wanted the “Worthless” scene to be cut from the film too, due to one of the cars driving into a crusher on purpose, using a suicide reference. For unknown reasons, the scene was left in the film(3).Ah the good old days of screwed up kids’ movies.
the whole junkyard scene scared the holy christ out of me when I was little because of the magnet. for some reason when I was little, I was convinced that it was actually a mother and she was angry at Toaster and friends because she thought they had hurt her baby??????????
either way these movies are emotionally scarring
but really really good
also a joHN LASSETER FILM AS WELL HEEStaple of my childhood, right here. It was one of my favorite songs and yeah, I didn’t realize how morbid it was (for a kid’s movie) until I was older. The reservation truck and the hearse in particular:
“I took a man to a graveyard. I beg your pardon, it’s quite hard enough just living with the stuff I have learned.”
